Thrombocytopenia, a significant reduction of platelets in the body. Platelets are blood cells that prevent severe bleeding. Severe shortage of platelets can lead to spontaneous bleeding into the skin without trauma. It appears as dark patches of skin known as purpura.
All that was causing the decrease in platelets causes May thrombocytopenic purpura. These include infections, cancer (including leukemia), certain drugs and chemicals, radiation, and the abnormal immune response of the body.
